Wordlocks: Use Them and Feel Stupid for Not Inventing Them

May 30 2008 / 7:57 pm Was written by Amber View Comments

Another simple idea that makes me feel like an idiot for not filing craploads of patents. Because people cannot remember numbers if you threaten their lives, Wordlocks are so genius and I am sad its not going to be my money. Thanks Popgadget for reminding me that I am an idiot. <$10 at Amazon and these other fine retailers.

Disqus Comments

May 30 2008 / 1:50 am Was written by Amber View Comments

Spam annoyed me so much that I signed up for Disqus comments. It seems promising and much more interactive.
I tried Intense Debate and Sez Who on my other blogs. To a non-pleasant outcome.
Intense Debate refused to install correctly on a blog freshly installed to the server, with no plugins.
Sez Who installed easily and it does keep the index on your blog, And even has a rating system. It just did not do anything for me. True I do not have a comment storm around here, but if people ever feel like commenting they have an option to add seesmic video. I also feel that the Disqus forums aren’t hurting the matter either.
I was going to try Haloscan on a blog with no traffic/comments, but I have not had the time to research and test it yet.

Thank Mashable for the convincing.

Solar Powered Mp4

May 28 2008 / 5:38 pm Was written by Amber View Comments

If you want to green up your tunes manufacturers are beginning to capitalize on the energy in the world that is just hanging out and not being optimally used. Somewhat like the cranking mp3 player featured before, Thanko has created a personal media player that can charge with a little less effort your part. Without the suggestive cranking, the solar powered PMP gets about 30+ minutes of play for every hour of charge. If you jam the tunes all day you might need to get a couple of them. It has some games preinstalled and an SD expansion slot for those long walks.

4GB for $95 and you never have to buy batteries or a replacement charger.

Use Those Useless Express Card Drives

May 27 2008 / 11:52 pm Was written by Amber View Comments

I do not know anyone that uses the express drives on their laptop unless they tinker too much and blow their internal wireless cards. Those drives just hang out and do nothing. Since the average laptop hangs out with only about 60-120 GB of hard drive space, a few extra GB never hurt anyone. A-Data made some express slot friendly drives which add either 16 or 32 GB without the bulk of carrying around another drive separately. Caters to your laziness and your lack of space. 16/32 GB for 65.99/129.99 .

They are actually currently sold out but sold here and here. If you want them both and want to combine shipping they are both available at the second link, just the smaller one is $4 more.

SearchMe…Yes Please

May 25 2008 / 4:52 pm Was written by Amber View Comments

Ok so Google has search in the pocket right? …Maybe not so much anymore. SearchMe is a new search engine in public beta that will make you drool and wet your pants at the same time. Instead of the same ‘ol list of results from a search, this puppy just shows previews of the pages in the list. This technique not only speeds up the process immensely if you have good eyes, it also saves you the trouble of having to deal with all those spammy blogs loading and making you angry.

Gamestop Discontinues Zune, No One Cares

Zune2(1)

If you are one of the few people that actually bought a Zune, you are a rare entity. This entity is so rare that Gamestop doesn’t feel like carrying the product anymore.
