Share This + Digg Count = Win

Jun 20 2008 / 11:20 pm Was written by Amber View Comments

According to the wonderful world of tech, Share This has added a handy dandy new feature to their widget. Next to the Digg option on the list, there is now a Digg count. There is a screenshot on the above link, because I’m too lazy to make my own and no one seems to care enough to Digg the stories here anyway.  Soon they may add count functionality to other things…Carry on Share This.

JukeBo

Jun 18 2008 / 11:51 pm Was written by Amber View Comments

Speaking of music, Jukebo is a neat little site that offers up a music video search on a good deal of the video sites out there. Jukebo saves you the time of having to look thru DailyMotion, YouTube, and whoever just to find a video.  Interface is simple and easy, and you only have to click once to look up vids in lots of places.

One thing to note, if you are at work or school and behind one of those big corporate firewalls, the site will act a little wonky. Happy vid hunting!

Qtrax Finally Launches

Jun 18 2008 / 11:27 pm Was written by Amber View Comments

Eons ago it seems, there was talk about a little startup named Qtrax that wanted to hook you up with free, legal P2P music. They claimed they had contracts with all the major labels and that all would be well. Instead there was a little mishap on the side of the contracts not really being signed yet, forcing Qtrax to pause the launch for a little bit. They manager to scrounge out some agreements with Universal and EMI and have opened their doors.

Firefox #3. Official Release Day. Download it and install it if you want. If you do not want to install it but want to help the Mozilla folks try to break a world record, download it and delete it later. Or you could just ignore it entirely. Whatever floats your boat. If you really want it, cross your fingers that the site is working.

Download Squad has a couple of links to help out too.

Update: Unofficial number on the record over 8 Mil.

Raw milk?

Jun 14 2008 / 7:49 pm Was written by Teh James View Comments

Yes Please! I’d like some Raw Milk The James said with glee!

Over the years, milk has been pasteurized for your health. Milk does have a lot of pathogens that can cause harm, but is it more dangerous to drink raw milk than it is to go walking through the Falls of the Ohio? In my opinion no.

If the cow is well taken care of, in a safe environment etc.. Then the risk of diseases is minimal compared to working in a place where someone can come in with bronchitis, meningitis, the common cold and the Plague. Hell, just living is dangerous, so why can’t I partake in something I would like to drink?

Seriously, look at this, Orange Juice is pasteurized to kill harmful things, but yet we consume raw oranges. We eat hot dogs and sausages that are made from this that and the other thing, but we’re concerned about a possible pathogen in raw milk? Milk that had been consumed for thousands of years without the whole worlds population dying off?

Ant removal techniques

Jun 14 2008 / 2:17 pm Was written by Teh James View Comments

So here we are again, the wonderful summer time months, vacations galore and roads trips to bore. Hark! What is this though? A colony of Ants living under you sink? Good lord man, run and hide, do as Iron Maiden suggests and “Run To The Hills”

Oh? What’s that? You don’t want to run to the hills and hide? You don’t want to run for your lives? Well Eddie will be very disappointed, but alas, we do have some solutions for you, and eco friendly solutions at that!

  1. Ants hate Chalk, so draw a chalk like around where the ants are entering, and don’t forget up the wall as well because they are incredible climbers. Be careful though as if you block off one way of access, then they will seek out other ways.
  2. Put out Cream of Wheat, which contains farina. Don’t cook it first though, because this is the best part, when the ants eat it, it expands, boom! Ant parts everywhere, shazzam!
