We all love getting our hands on a good piece of software, some of us are even willing to shell out a few bucks for it.  Well this is why Software Saturday was born. Freeware/Shareware/ Payware needs a home and we want to help. We will showcase them in every edition of Software Saturday. We will be honest and state off the bat that we will probably be really skimpy with the payware (there are lots of free alternatives and we are just too poor to buy them all — we also will not be cracking software either). Freeware – No Cost Ever

Who is this Person?: Who is this person is a great Firefox add-on that is surprisingly underused. You highlight a name, right click it and the lovely little add-on offers to track down who that person is through a variety of sources. It even has a Spock search built-in. When you spend enough time on the internet, whether it is to check out potential employees or just reading random blogs, find out the credibility of the source is important. I personally recommend this add-on.

Shareware – Try Before You Buy

Tune Up Utilities : TUP is a nice piece of software which helps you take care of your computer, but more often than not also helps you take care of your friends computer. It arrives on your computer with a 30 day free trial. It is Windows only, but that really goes without saying since it is used for optimization. It can clean up the registry, can recover deleted files, and tweak you internet connection settings. It even has a small bit of their other software built in.

Payware – $$$

NTI CD&DVD-Maker : This software came bundled with my laptop or else I would have never known it existed. Truth is, there are plenty of pieces of software out there that want to burn your media, but this one makes it so easy. It also lets you give it a dragon theme if thats your bag. Quick burning, drag and drop interface, no questions asked.
